5 Card Set of Masculine Thank You Cards With Stampin’ Up!

By | 02/16/2013

Stampin’ Up!s new Parker’s Patterns Designer Series Paper and the Beyond Plaid stamp set really lend themselves to creating masculine cards.  Here is a quick set of 3×3″ thank you cards in a matching folder.

Parker's PatternsI used several elements to create the cards and folder.  I created 6 pieces of crumb cake card stock cut at 2-7/8 x 2-7/8″.  I stamped each with one of the plaid squares from the Beyond Plaid stamp set (#129204) using crumb cake ink.  I used the Thanks So Much sentiment from the Oh, Hello stamp set (#130833) stamped in Early Espresso ink.  I added Early Espresso ribbon (#126871) and some natural buttons (#127554) to embellish each card in a slightly different way.  These mats were attached to 3×6″ Whisper White cards, scored at 3″ using snail adhesive.

Beyond PlaidNeedless to say, these are very quick and easy.  I was trying to make them as masculine as possible.  I will be sending these to my son in college so he has thank you cards when he needs them.  (I’m certain he has plenty to thank his professors for!)

The folder to hold the cards was also very quick and easy.  I used a 12×12″ piece of Designer Series Paper from the new Parker’s Patterns set (#131021).  I cut it down to an 8″ square.  I scored it down the middle at 4″ in both directions.  Then I folded two of the corners in toward the center score lines forming the triangular shape.  I then folded the paper in half both ways creating the folder.

Parker's patternsThe outside was embellished with Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist paper and the remaining stamped image.  I used a piece of the Natural Ribbon Trim(#129287) to tie it closed.  I also used a zig zag Spellbinder’s edgelit to create the zig zag pattern with my Big Shot (#113409).

card folderI think it’s very simple and masculine.  I will also add the small envelopes (#107309) inside the folder before I send these to my son in his next care package!

I love that the catalog lists the colors they use in the Designer Series Paper right under the image of the paper in the catalog.  It makes it so much easier to match your materials when you are creating a project.
