5 Thank You Cards To Show Your Gratitude

By | 12/08/2013

5 Thank You cards to show your gratitude anytime of the year!  We always need thank you cards, especially around the holidays.  Showing our gratitude for a gift or a kind deed is one of our most important acts.   Have a set of thank you cards on hand so that you can express your gratitude to that special someone!

I’ve created 5 quick cards using the Lots of Thanks stamp set.  I kept the color scheme and card layouts simple so that they are quick and easy to create.  Create several of each, add envelopes, and place them in a cello bag with a pretty ribbon to give as a gift.  This is the perfect gift for a teacher…teacher’s go through a lot of thank you cards!

All of the cards are created on a Pool Party base cut at 4-1/4 x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″.  The ink, paper and ribbon colors are limited to Whisper White,  Pool Party, Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.

Card 1:

Details:  This card includes the use of the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, soft sky ribbon, regals buttons and pool party baker’s twine.  I rounded the bottom edges of the card and mat.  As you can see, I did not try to line the thank you sentiment up perfectly.  I wanted to make a quick card, not a fussy one.  I also used a version of the Ombre Technique of color gradient.  I started with the darkest color at the bottom and lightened it as I worked toward the top.  (Make sure you clean your stamp between each color change!)

Card 2:

Details:  This card is very quick.  I used the Winter Frost Designer Paper, Whisper White ribbon, a scrap or two of Island Indigo card stock and my Decorative Label Punch.  This couldn’t be easier and it’s a perfect use of scraps!

Card 3:

Details:  This is the card that I fussed with the most.  I included the Background Builders and the Mosaic Madness stamp sets here.  I used a scrap of Bermuda Bay that I ran through the Big Shot with the Lattice Embossing Folder.  I also used a scrap of Bermuda Bay DSP from the Brights Designer Paper Stack.  You can see Whisper White and Bermuda Bay Ribbon.  I also used my Deco Labels Framelits here as well, and added a touch of sponging.

Card 4:

Details:  The Background Builder stamp set was used here along with a scrap of the Winter Frost DSP.  A bit of white stitched taffeta ribbon with a regals designer button was added as well.  The sentiment was cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and the Big Shot.  You can also see the Candy Dots and the Candy Dot Brads were used as a finishing touch!

Card 5:

Details:  This was by far the quickest card.   I added the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and some Island Indigo baker’s twine.  I also used my 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle and my 1-3/8″ circle punches to highlight the sentiment.  I’m thinking that I will go back and round the bottom corners of this card before I send it out.

Suggestions:

  • I was trying to keep my color scheme simple, but you can imagine how you could step these cards up with more colors.
  • When you are creating card sets to give as gifts, get out those scraps of papers that you have been saving.   This is the time to use them.  Don’t let them sit in a pile on your desk!
  • Changing the color scheme, the designer paper,  or adding more images will completely change these cards.  Experiment and have fun being creative!
