The Christmas gifts are purchased and wrapped. The tree is up and decorated. It’s time to start the cleaning and cooking before the family arrives!
There are always a few last-minute gifts to take care of. I sat down for a few minutes for some creative relaxation to make a few extra Christmas tags in case they are needed.
I also had to find a way to “wrap” the gift cards people asked for.
I pulled out the remains of my November Paper Pumpkin Kit. There were small gift/gift card boxes in there that were easy to assemble. I made some pretty tags, added some twine and festive sparkly sequins…then I hung them on the tree like ornaments!
I used some Crumb Cake card stock and my tag punches to create the bases for my tags. I pulled out the mix and match Christmas ephemera and layered that on the tags. I used my scissors to rough up the edges of some of the tags as well. I added some snowflakes stamped in Cloud Cover ink. I just pulled my snowflake stamp from the woodland scenery stamp set. Several sets have those little snowflake filler stamps.
I added a few Traditional Sparkling Sequins and some twine to finish them off.
I attached the tags to the gift boxes and added some twine to tie them up and hang on the tree.
I needed a few extra tags because I like the tag kits I had made my original tags from so much that I decided to hang one of each design on the tree like ornaments. You can also see that I have a lot of handmade ornaments mixed in with some dollar store red ball ornaments. It’s very festive and enjoy adding some new handmade ornaments each year.
I started crocheting two years ago and I have several crocheted ornaments on there this year!
This photo shows a felt ornament my daughter made for our tree a couple of years ago, along with another tag and gift card holder!
What if you don’t have ready to assemble boxes on hand?
I usually use envelopes or I fold pretty festive DSP to hold my gift cards. Attach a pretty tag and hang it on the tree and you’re good to go!
I’m happily using the Christmas mix and match ephemera and greetings pieces. The little bits that I have leftover will go in a small Christmas tin that I have on hand and they will get used next year for this very same purpose!
I hope you are having a relaxing and peace filled holiday season! These are the good old days, so enjoy them!
Thank you for stopping by! Happy Holidays!
