There are some tools that are essential to have in your craft stash, and the Assorted Leaves die set is one of those.
Scrappy Tails Crafts just released a fabulous set of assorted leaves dies and I’m loving them. I have 5 ways to use them to share with you today.
You will also find a VIDEO TUTORIAL below!
Technique 1: Use the leaves and stems as filler below your beautiful images.
I used the Poppin’ Poppies stamp set to create a focal image for my card and I felt like it just needed something extra. I added some of the stems of leaves below the image in a diagonal across the card and I was much happier with the end result! I also added a light watercolor wash background and some splatter as well. Seriously, no card feels complete without splatter!
Technique 2: Use the negative pieces left over and layer them together to create a new twist on your scraps!
The thank you word dies are from the Scrappy Tails Crafts Slimline Pop Up Box Card Die set. It is loaded with word dies!!
I love this technique because these are the pieces we usually throw away! Not anymore!
Technique 3: Use your negative piece as a stencil and ink blend the image.
This is a pretty card that would work for either gender. It’s also a lovely card for someone who needs words of comfort! It was quick and easy to do.
Technique 4: Die cut your pieces from craft foam and glue them to acetate to create a stamp from the die!
Make sure that when you ink up the foam, you wipe any excess ink from the acetate or it will end up on your card. I bet I will be able to use my homemade foam stamps a few times before they get too raggedy to use anymore!
How great is this technique? It is my favorite. I was thinking about how much I would love it if this die set was also a stamp set and voila! It can be!
Technique 5: Remember that leaves do not need to be green!!
It has been so gloomy, I needed some pops of bright color on at least on card!
Video Tutorial:
This technique was inspired by my Scrappy Tails Design Team friend, Sharon Luska, who created a gorgeous card 2 weeks ago with this die set and bright colors. You can see her card tutorial on her YouTube video here. There is lots of inspiration out there and it’s fun to take someone else’s card and do your own twist on it.
