I had a very relaxing morning today. I decided to color an image just for the sheer joy of coloring while having the TV on. What a great way to spend a morning!
I chose an image from The Paper Shelter called Tropical Fun. I just finished coloring an image from them for one of my future challenges which I will be sharing with you in April. I keep all my digital images in folders on my computer by company and I saw this really fun image that I just couldn’t resist sharing with you today while I was looking for the image for April!
I love finding images that work for tropical locales now that I live in Florida! I’ll be sending this card to a friend who is living in a snowy place who I hope to finally get to see sometime this summer!
Isn’t the sentiment fun? That is from the All Seasons Sentiment paper set from Maker Forte. This is a cut apart set of sentiments and I thought this sentiment worked really well with this image.
The image came with the water splashes around the bottom. I decided to extend them and create a sea scene with a sunny sky. I love coloring water and adding the white gel pen details. It makes the water look like it is sparkling!
I’ve definitely been feeling the spring colors lately. My projects have all included pink, green, yellow, blue, and purple over the last couple of weeks. Today, I used the bright version of each instead of the pastels. I wanted a more tropical vibe.
I also chose to keep this card simple. My colored panel was cut at 4 x 5-1/4″, the navy blue panel was cut at 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″, and the card base is cut a 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ and scored and folded at 4-1/4″.

The Paper Shelter image comes with the black and white image that you can color yourself, plus 3 pre-colored images that include a background paper, the bird image, and the bird on the background paper. If you are crunched for time and don’t have time to color, you can print out the pre-colored images and put a quick card together.
I’m also going to enter this is the Paper Shelter’s design team challenge.
Thank you so much for dropping by today! I hope you find some time to relax and create today.
