Stampin’ Up! has an event every year called Creativity Now. Demonstrators can register for it in the Spring and then in May or so, they let you pre-order the supplies for the event.
The supplies are always a sneak peek at a suite that will be in the Fall and Holiday Mini Catalog that will come out later in the year.
We craft along with Artisans, Stampin’ Up! personnel, or other demonstrators from around the world. They always seem to have one fun fold card and several tips and techniques in each of the 4 sessions. This year they also had some Artisan Design Team Members show us several projects that they made and do a technique tutorial for us in addition to the make-and-take projects.
We also get a sneak peek at other items that will be coming out later in the year. Usually the Concept Artist who designed and created the projects talks about their creative process and the decisions they made along the way to create the product we get to see. They also have several projects they made with the goodies to share ideas with us. That is really my favorite part. I love hearing about someone’s creative process!
Here are the projects we made this year:
This was the simplest card that we made today. It uses strips of DSP with a torn edge detail. You can see the pretty patterns for this new paper. The dies have some great pieces too. Here you can see the leafy sprig. The sentiment is from the stamp set in the Suite as are the Hues of Blue flower embellishments on the card.
This is a fun fold card. The label die, the dove, and the tiny sprig are all dies in the set. This is one of two doves. You also get a peek at the embossing folder in this suite as well.
That ribbon is also in the suite and it is so pretty! My photo doesn’t do it justice!
We also created the envelope that coordinates with the card out of DSP. I think this is one of only a handful of times that I’ve used DSP as my card base.
I think this card is so pretty!
Card 3:
This card has a pocket that holds a tag made from the smaller of the two label dies in the die set in this suite. The Suite is called Peaceful Garden.
There is glimmer paper in this set! It comes in a pretty blue, Secret Sea (you see that here), and Cloud Cover. It’s all very pretty.
The final project:
We made a little gift box that was very easy to create. I love the end result. This has more of the glimmer paper, embellishments, and that ribbon!
It was a fun afternoon of creating along with other demos. It’s always nice to feel like you have some company while you are crafting.
Plus…it’s always fun to get some sneak peeks of future goodies and to actually get to play with them!
Have a great day!
