Create a quick and easy set of floral cards with the Scrappy Tails Crafts Oopsy Daisy stamp and die set and stencils from your stash!
I have a video to share with you today to show you 5 of my go to stencil background techniques that you can use with the images from the fabulous Oopsy Daisy stamp set.
My first card uses an Oval Spotlight stencil and Tattered Rose distress oxide ink to create a focal spot on the card for the floral image to sit.
This is such a quick and easy technique with a lot of WOW! It really focuses your eye on that floral you spent so much time coloring!
The second card uses an easy stenciled background with a Tessa Dot square stencil and 3 inks blended across the panel. I used dried marigold, scattered straw and milled lavender distress oxides to create a soft, yet colorful background for one of my floral images.
Again, a quick and easy background but another WOW factor. I love the bold purples of the floral on top of the soft pastel background.
The third card uses a Celtic Knot stencil and rose gold embossing powder for a shiny background to the fun bees meandering across the heat embossed pattern of the stencil.
You could elect to use patterned paper or die cut card stock backgrounds on all of these cards, but neither of those choices is as cost effective as purchasing a stencil that you can use over and over in so many different ways!
My next card uses a slimline Night Garden stencil turned sideways on an A2 card. I used the same 3 soft pastel distress oxides I used on the Tessa Dot stencil, but I love the effect of just covering a horizontal portion of the card front with the stencil.
You will notice that I did not color any of the florals in traditional daisy colors! I just have fun coloring whatever I was in the mood for! I love that this one stamp set stretched to an entire set of 5 cards in less than an hour!
My last card uses the Tessa Dot stencil with Ranger Texture Paste in transparent matte finish mixed with evergreen bough distress oxide. This one required some drying time before I could attach the floral and stamp the sentiment.
Again, I did not cover the entire card front with this stenciling technique and I love the end result. The color is so pretty!!
How easy were these techniques?
You get such a bang for your buck with stencils because there are so many ways to use them. I felt exactly the same way about this stamp set! I got 5 completely different cards because I had so many floral and bee images to choose from.
I stamped everything onto one sheet of paper at once, colored it all in and then cut it out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut. Then I had a pile of die cuts to play with that just needed fun backgrounds!
Thank goodness for that stash of stencils I have! I just keep pulling them out and using them over and over.
You will see this daisy stamp set on future card sets as well. It’s one of my new favorites because it has so many possibilities!
