Keeping Card Making Simple with Card Recipe Sketches

By | 08/06/2024

Over the last two months, I have started two new video series on my YouTube channel.

Technique Album Video Series:

Create a Cardmaking Technique Binder

I’m creating a technique album for myself, and I decided that I would share the PDF printables that I’m creating to add to my album.  The printables have 3 x 4″ sized cards you can print and cut out to add to your own technique album. You can find the printables and supporting videos under the 2024 Technique Album Series tab at the top of this blog!

I use a 4 x 6″ piece of white card stock and do the technique on one half of the front of the card and glue the printed instructions on the other side of the card.

I’m using an inexpensive photo sleeve “album” I got on Amazon to slide these cards into.  I love having this resource to browse through for inspiration.

Card Recipe Album Series:

Stamping Imperfection Card Recipe Album Series

For this series, I’m sharing 2 of my 30+ card recipes in a video.  My customers will get the PDF of the card recipes with measurements and card samples with product details for the two card recipes I share each month.  This is my customer thank you gift for ordering online in my Stampin’ Up! shop!

I’m using another of the 4 x 6″ albums to hold my cards.  The cards that I’m creating are card fronts.  I’m using old card stock that I didn’t like from the craft store to create my card front samples.  My samples all have the measurements on them so I can recreate the card layout with products that I have in my stash.

This resource is really keeping my card making process so simple!

I LOVE having these two resources!

Today:

I shared my two August card recipes on my YouTube channel today!

I’ve made quite a few cards with these two recipes already and I can tell you that they are perfect for using some of the white card stock scraps I have in a pile on my desk.

This is a sample of one of the cards I made using Card Recipe #3!  This one uses the Country Flowers stamp set and the To the Market DSP for a background.

I am loving the Sentimental Park stamp set. This is a sweet two step stamp set that I think is perfect for beginners.

I made this with the same stamp set, but instead of using the Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo for the flowers, I used Cajun Craze and Memento Tuxedo Black. I love this combo!

I also made this color combo with my Card Recipe #4.  In this one, I turned the white card stock panel vertically to accommodate the taller stamped image.

This is by far my favorite card of the day! This is the Cheerful Daisies stamp set in that same color combo.  I added a stamp from the Of Art & Texture stamp that I found in my online store.  I LOVE the textured background that adds to this panel!

This used a scrap of the Delightful Designs DSP from the Clearance Rack of my online shop.  The stamp set is one of the two step stamps from Labeled with Love.  I used a bunch of the Subtles ink pads for a very colorful design!

You can get the PDF that includes the written instruction card for the 2 Step Stamping here: Stamping Imperfection Technique Files Printable Tutorials Two Step Stamping

You will also get a sneak peek at two other techniques I am featuring in my next technique video!
