New Weekly Card Sketch Challege at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

It’s time for a new card sketch challenge for this week at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

I am not going to fib.  I struggled with this sketch!  It’s such a simple sketch and I’ve made cards using the 4 small squares like this before.  I don’t know why I just couldn’t make those 4 squares work for the stamp sets I wanted to use.

I modified the sketch and used the 4 squares as a focal point of sorts for a different kind of cluster!

I played with the Peaceful Evergreens stamp set and the Christmas Labels Bundle.  Both of these are on the Last Chance List and they are still available.

I combined Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler with some white and those gold sequins and star from one of the Christmas Ephemera packs.

I did some tone-on-tone stamping with the Mossy Meadow in on the Mossy Meadow card stock.  I always love the look of tone-on-tone for a softer background.

I was thinking that a great way to step this up would be to add some white sparkly embossing paste to add a snow detail to the trees and the ground.  Then maybe some white gel pen sparkles to add some more star detail to the cluster in the corner.

All in all, I’m happy with the card layout.  I used the sentiment and added a background that I felt was suggested by the sketch.  Instead of those 4 squares clustered in the upper left, I added some sparkle instead!

Card Measurements:

Whisper White: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″; 2 x 3″ piece for sentiment

Cherry Cobbler: 5-3/8 x 4-1/8″

Mossy Meadow: 4 x 5-1/4″
