Ocean Friends Fun Fold Card with a Gift Card Pocket

I have participated in several of Stampin’ Up!’s Creating Connections Virtual training sessions over the last few months and I’m loving the virtual stamp nights that I have been invited to. They always show us some sneak peeks and they do a Mystery Stamping event each time as well.

I wanted to share the clever project that I leaned from that evening! It’s a fun fold card with a gift card pocket and all you need is one simple cut to a regular A2 sized card!

I’ve stamped with Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Lime Twist, and Summer Splash. I used Summer Splash card stock to create the card base as well.

For this card, I created a 4-1/4 x 11″ card base that was scored and folded at 5-1/2″. The trick is to make a cut on the front of the card starting at the score to the bottom of the card front 1″ from the right-hand side. After creating and attaching any inside panel you want to add, you then glue the 1″ sides and the outer edge of that 1″ piece and attach to the inside of the card back to create a pocket.

The Ocean Friends DSP has a piece that is cut at 3-1/4 x 5-1/2″ that gets attached to the front of the card. A second piece of the DSP is cut at 1-1/16 x 5-1/2″ and that is attached to the pocket piece.

For the inside panel, I used a piece of white that I cut at 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″. I stamped the seaweed in Lemon Lime Twist and the bubbles in Summer Splash.

The outside of the card has a 2-1/2″ Summer Splash Circle anchoring the lobster which was stamped in Melon Mambo and Berry Burst. The lobster was attached with dimensionals and I also wrapped the twine around the card front and tied it into a bow before attaching the circle with liquid glue.

The sentiment is also attached with dimensionals and this was stamped in Pumpkin Pie.

You can see that I also added 3 of the Summer Splash Sunny Day Iridescent Dots that came with the Ocean Friends Suite.
