Have You Ever Participated In A Creative Convention?
I decided to treat myself to a creative convention for this weekend. It started at 1:00 PM yesterday and it ends tomorrow.
I’ve been attending seminars on various aspects to boost my business and I’ve been participating in make-n-takes.
I’m so happy that I treated myself to a weekend devoted to crafting! I feel so inspired!
I won’t bore you with news about the business seminars, but I will share our make-n-takes. Keep in mind that I did not design these, but I created them from someone else’s design and instruction. I tried my best to make it exactly like the samples, (I have a habit of creating my own “thing”.)
I signed up for the convention and then they sent us a supply list that we needed to provide, although we did get a goody bag with all of the precut and scored papers and ribbons. I had no idea what the projects would be when I signed up and plunked down my hard earned cash!
There were at least 3 stamp sets, a punch and a framelit set that I had no intention of buying when I saw them in the catalog. I placed my order for the stuff I didn’t have and it arrived one on Thursday! Now that I’ve played with these bundles, I love them.
Check out the projects that we have made so far:
From the Foxy Friends Stamp Set and Punch Bundle…I really didn’t love it until I played with it. What possibilities!!!
I will definitely be designing some of my own cards with this bundle.
We created lots of boxes…
I found the popcorn framelits very easy to use…that is the blue box in the back on the left. My favorite set (which was the first thing I ordered from the new catalog!) is the Jars of Love bundle. How cute is that little candy holder in the front left?
Here is another box…these clear boxes are in the new catalog and they are food safe:
It’s adorable, right?!
We made some cards with Flourishing Phrases and the thinlets that go with it:
The inside of the cards is as pretty as the outside:
Finally, there are two more cards:
We even got a pillow gift created by Ronda Wade! I even won a prize!
I’m having so much fun and I’m getting some great little tips that I will share with you during the week!
Thank you for stopping by!
Kim – I absolutely LOVED going to Stampin’ Up Conventions – did so for about 10 years in a row – so fun, so cool and I am absolutely thrilled that you got to go!! AWESOME, huh???
This wasn’t the Stampin’ Up! Convention…they actually don’t do that anymore. They have other local events. I did have the opportunity to spend 4 days at the home offices in Utah for the Rising Star trip and that was a great experience! I have to say that every event that I’ve attended, locally and online, have all been great fun. Stampin’ Up! demonstrators are a lot of fun to craft with and what a creative bunch!
