This month’s challenge for the Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge is a theme/color inspiration challenge.

This was a very inspirational mood board!

I pulled out some photos from a Trek Convention that my husband and I went to the weekend before I created my layout.  So I had to figure out a way to make the photos from that work with this color combo/theme.

Since we were able to attend several panels with a few stars who played some of our favorite Star Trek characters in the Star Trek universe, I decide to go with the star theme.  I titled my layout, “Seeing Stars”!

I used one of my favorite background papers from the Country Woods DSP collection.  I was so happy that Stampin’ Up! still has this paper available in the new annual catalog.

I used two different sized punches to create some stars out of Poppy Parade scraps and some silver glimmer paper. I don’t usually use just one kind of ephemera on my layouts, but since I had 4 photos and a journaling box that I wanted to include…I kept the rest of the layout simple with the stars.

I used two different sets of alphabet dies to create my title.  This was made easy by using the adhesive sheets on the back of my papers before I cut them out.  I made two white sets of the alphabets and one set from a couple of pieces of the new Brights Designer Series papers.  This allowed me to stick 3 layers together to give the title a little dimension.  I used the Mini Alphabet Dies and the Alphabet A la Mode dies.

I used a circle punch to make circles to record the details about each photo, so I don’t forget them a few weeks from now.

I didn’t snap any photos of myself at the event (Of course!), so I snapped one of myself when I got home and printed the pictures.  This was a really fun day!

We would love to have you join us for the challenge!
