I had so much fun creating my card project for today.
I had trouble falling asleep last night and decided to watch some Copic coloring videos from My Creative Scoop. I joined the Coloring Club when Mindy was offering a deal that included access to all of her previous Copic coloring classes. I LOVE her classes and splurged.
That was another night I couldn’t fall asleep…sigh!
I created this card to play along with the Saturday Challenge at Three Room Studio. This week we have a sketch challenge with a choice of two sketches!
I chose sketch A. I pulled out some old Catherine Pooler Halloween paper and created my background.
Measurements:
Card Base: 5-1/4 x 8-1/2″, score and fold at 4-1/4″
Black mat: 4 x 5-1/4″
Catherine Pooler Bat Paper: 2-3/4 x 5″
Catherine Pooler Ghost Paper: 1 x 5″
I also used a white piece of card stock cut at 3 x 4-1/4″ to create my little spooky scene. I watched a fall background class from My Creative Scoop last night and I modified the technique a bit.
I used some distress oxides: Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Black Soot, Seedless Preserves, Hickory Smoke, and Dusty Concord. These were blended together in a similar fashion to how Mindy added her Copics. She used a pretty yellow and orange blend. I did mine in yellow and purple.
I added the tree with my black Copic in a similar manner to what I watched Mindy do on the video last night. I love how easy that tree was to create!
See the details here:
The mummy is a digital stamp called “Halloween for Mummies” from Three Room Studio. It is part of a cute digi set.
I added my “Boo” sentiment with some old alphabet stickers from my stash…and I mean old!! At least 20 years!
I love this sketch. I think the washi detail and the angled top panel with the Halloween scene is so much fun.
I added some staples which is a detail inspired by Tenia Nelson!
I think the papers added a fun touch to the scene card. I don’t usually add patterned papers to cards with scenes. I like this sketch so much that it will be one of my favorite go-to sketches now!
My card was really inspired by a lot of people today!
I hope you enjoy it and check out some of my creative friends as well!
Happy weekend!
