I’m using this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to add to my fall card stash with a quick and easy floral card.
I love this card layout. It feels like a classic design that would work for any occasion. It also gives me a chance to add some ribbon to a card! I used to use ribbon on almost every card, but these days I seem to be stockpiling my ribbon. I hardly ever use it and I have some cute ribbons.
I pulled out the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper that I got a few weeks ago from Stampin’ Up! I LOVE the B sides of these papers. They make for perfect card backgrounds. The florals on the front sides are beautiful, but a great pattern on the back makes card making so much easier. I love a fall plaid and this one is no exception.
Once again, I pulled out the Harvest Hues Mix & Match Ephemera pack. The fall ephemera pieces are fantastic. I have been looking for a card to use this fall floral on. I think this sketch really works for this little design.
My DSP is cut to 3-1/2 x 4-3/4″, which gives it a nice even border all around the patterned paper. It also gives a nice amount of background design behind my focal floral image.
I added some of this great Old Olive Rickrack from my stash. I fastened it to the back of the DSP with glue dots then added liquid glue to hold the paper down to the card base. The florals are all popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped on a piece of scrap beige card stock stamped with the 3 Banner Punch. The sentiment is from the Stitched Blooms stamp set that I got from the Virtual Card Retreat in October.
You can find most of these supplies in my online Stampin’ Up! store at ShopWithKim.net.
I hope you join our challenge this week at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!
If you don’t want to create something for the challenge, at least check out the cards the design team and other participants have made. They are GORGEOUS!! The design team cards will be posted tomorrow (Wednesday, November 5).
Thank you for stopping by! Happy Fall Days!!!
