Altenew Educator Certification Program: ‘Tis The Season

By | 03/22/2018

I have one card left to share with you from the Altenew Academy classes.  This class was ‘Tis The Season.

I have one Altenew Christmas stamp and it doesn’t have any sentiments.  I just got this set and it is a beauty!  It has 4 layers to create the most realistic looking package bow.

Stamping Imperfection 'Tis The Season

Isn’t that bow gorgeous?

The bow is created with the following colors: Emerald, Lagoon, Volcano Lake, and Mountain Mist.  The “ribbon” is actually ink blended using Ruby Red and the Post-It tape to mask off the paper to leave just the area I wanted to ink uncovered.  I used my Ranger ink blending tool to keep adding the Ruby Red ink to get just the depth of color that I was looking for.  You could actually do this with an entire piece of card stock to get just the color of paper you wanted for a special project.

Once again, I used the Halftone Happy stamp and die set.  The holiday sentiment is heat embossed in black on vellum.  I tried it in white and it did not stand out enough. I really like the way that it looks embossed in black.  I like the vellum as well.  It keeps with the clean and simple design of the card.

I also added a few of those fabulous Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins.

The die is done in Altenew’s Gold Mirror specialty paper popped up on die cut white craft foam.  The bow is attached with foam tape as is the card front to the card base.

I found the bow easy to layer and I found the die of that to cut beautifully.  It was easy to line up and cut out.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Happy crafting!Altenew Academy
