One of my favorite stamp sets is Altenew Flower Vine. I love how soft and sweet the image and sentiments are. I was tempted to do this in just black and white and keep it as simple as possible.
Instead, I’m using elements from two sketch challenges to create my card.
The first is this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
I used my Altenew Alcohol markers and kept the colors super simple to work with the AHSC sketch here:
The vine image serves as the floral sprigs behind the sentiment. I decided to use the layer vertically on the card to fit my image. I kept the colors soft and light in an effort to keep the clean and simple feel of the sketch.
I pulled a few elements from this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch as well:
I’ve used the soft wash background and sentiment placement along with the leafy vine images. I’ve added the sequins as well.
I did eliminate the square layers, instead choosing to add the gold washi strip along the edge of the one layer I chose to use. My other layers are not paper layers, they are medium layers. I’ve added my wash background and then black, yellow, and blue splatters over the alcohol ink coloring of the flowers.
I needed to keep it simple today! It was just one of those 24 hour periods! You know what I’m saying! (Not sure if it was food poisoning or something else, but I’m happy to be feeling better tonight than I was last night!)
Thank you for stopping by! Have a very happy day and Happy April! Can you believe that it is APRIL already?!!
What a pretty card. I love the soft colors and splatters.Great interpretation of the sketch. Thanks for joining us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
