This month’s theme for the scrapbook layout challenge on the Challenge YOUrself blog is to use your own handwriting to do some journaling on the page.
I won’t lie…I’m too lazy to do anything but my own handwriting to do journaling on my layout! Everything else seems like a lot more work!
I had fun with this layout! I just got the October Hip Kit Club scrapbooking kit for the month and couldn’t wait to use it. It was packed with goodness this month. I loved the papers and colors in the kit.
I added some tags because one entire paper was tags. I LOVE that!
There were also lots of florals and I am truly partial to adding flowers and leaves to my layouts. They included 3 alphabets and lots of sentiment strips.
I do get both the pocket kit and the 12 x 12″ kit. So far, I’ve created 2 12 x 12 layouts and a bunch of traveler’s notebook layouts that I could not help myself…I’ve been using the kit papers and goodies in those layouts as well. It’s a November daily and I’m loving this fall themed kit.
I used some Tim Holtz spray to create my blue splatter. I also had some blue enamel dots that I added as well. It always feels so good to pull stuff out of my stash to use it with a new kit. I really have been working my way through my craft stash. I want to use everything without buying too much new stuff.
It’s a challenge for sure!
I don’t know about you, but I love adding labels and tags to my layouts. I have a bunch of them in my stash and I always love when a kit comes with some coordinating labels and tags!
We would love to have you join us for the challenge! You can make any sized layout you want. There are lots of prizes given throughout the month. The only rule is that YOU need to be in the photo!
I’ve been doing this challenge for 3 or 4 years and I am finally in some photo albums.! Honestly, I did a lot of scrapbooking over the years and I’m in none of those photos. I took the pictures and then I documented my family’s story…sans my part in the story!
You can check out the Hip Kit Club! I really love all the goodness you get each month.
Thank you for stopping by! Happy crafting!
