This week’s Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge is a sketch challenge using a PageMaps Sketch!!
I love a good PageMaps sketch! I print out each month’s sketches and keep them in a binder. I have all of the scrapbook sketches going back to 2006! They are very inspiring, and they are FREE.
Here is my take on this month’s sketch challenge:
My husband and I are celebrating our 40th Anniversary this October. I decided to use this sketch to start the celebration. I snapped a new photo of us and one from about 5 years ago to use for the layout. I love us with gray hair. I think it speaks to our long and wonderful story together.
I used some of the dregs of the Lovely Floral scrapbook workshop kit that I had left over. I did pull a piece of floral DSP from the coordinating Floral Charm suite to add to the card stock and scraps of papers I had left over from the scrapbook workshop kit. I used one of the Mossy Meadow 12 x 12 pieces as my base.
I cut 1/2″ off two sides of the floral paper and 1-1/2″ off the Petal Pink paper. I stamped some background details using Peach Pie ink and the Of Art & Texture stamp set. I added some black splatter using my dark Black Stampin’ Blend marker. Then I added my photos with a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock.
I added some journaling pen lines around the edges of the Petal Pink piece, which I used on the lighter side of the two toned paper.
I created a little envelope and tag using two of the journaling cut apart pieces from the kit. The tag was created with a scrap of white and my favorite tag builder punch. I added a little twine and some lines with a journaling pen before tucking it into the pocket.
I added a few stickers from the kit to add some sentiments and florals to decorate the layout. Then I added some stamping with the Documenting the Day and an old alpha set for my title. That stamp set was a freebie from SAB in February as are the sequins I used to finish off the layout.
I plan to make a coordinating layout to go with this one in my album using whatever is left in that kit and the coordinating suite of products.
I’ve really gotten my money’s worth out of the Lovely Florals scrapbook workshop kit and the Floral Charms suite of products.
You can find all the supplies in my online Stampin’ Up! shop at ShopWithKim.net.
We would love to have you join us for the challenge. It runs through September and ends on October 4. You can go to our Facebook group and add your layout photo there! No blog needed.
Thank you for stopping by! Happy scrapping!
