Clean and Simple Card Challenge

By | 01/01/2026

My Word of the Year for 2026 is Challenge.  One of my goals is to play along with more card and scrapbook challenges this year.  That will also help me to meet the challenge of posting more on my blog and YouTube channel.

Today, I decided to start with the CAS of Friday Challenge.

The rules and requirements are pretty clear, and it seems like a friendly group of people!

Clean and simple cards require one main image, minimal layers and embellishments, and lots of white space on the card.

This month’s theme is Snowflake!

Here is my card:

Clean and Simple on Friday card challenge

My images are from Stampin’ Up!s Festive Friends stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Delicate Pines stamp set.

I stamped the images in Cloud Cover ink then colored in the snowflakes and snowman with my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.

I used Blackberry Bliss, Pretty in Pink, Gray Granite, Secret Sea, Cloud Cover, and Peach Pie.  I did not like the way the Cloud Cover looked around the edges of the snowman after I colored it in.  I took my journaling pen and went over the Cloud Cover edges and I was much happier with the end result.

I did stamp and color on a white panel cut at 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″ because those alcohol markers do bleed through.  I added the panel to a 5-1/ x 8-1/2″ card base, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.

My sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink.  I chose this sentiment because it’s perfect for sending as a winter greeting card.  I selected colors so this wouldn’t look like a Christmas card.  I think sending winter themed cards to friends and family in snowy locales is a great idea!

The challenge ends on January 7, so you still have time to play along!  You can find the challenge at CAS on Friday.

Thanks for stopping by!!

I hope you have plans to relax with more creative you time in 2026! Happy New Year!
