Clean And Simple Welcome Home Card

Have you seen Catherine Pooler’s last Stamp of Approval release?  The Sweet Home Wreath stamp and die set is one of my very favorite stamp sets.

It’s so versatile that I’ve used it a number of times since I’ve gotten it and every card is completely different than the ones I made before it.

I has a layered wreath which looks fabulous with just one of the layers, let alone all of them.  It has lots of branches and leafy sprigs, along with some flowers and berries.

I wanted this card to feel like spring is around the corner.  And spring, you are always welcome here!Clean and Simple Welcome Home Card

I used my Altenew inks including the Milk Chocolate, Mountain Pine, Grass Field, Shadow Creek, and Fire Fly.  I embossed the sentiment in the copper embossing powder that coordinates so well with this chocolate and green combination.

To give it a spring feel, I added lots of Butterfly Kisses Sequins from Simon Says Stamp. That came in a card kit last spring and it has been in my stash since!  I also added some NUVO drops in Bubblegum Blush and Sea Breeze Translucent Jewel Drops.

I finally mastered getting the drops just right.  It turns out that they are self-leveling and the trick is to hold the tip of the bottle just above the paper without touching it and squeeze the drop on.  It will look like a candy kiss shape at first, but it will level out to a nice rounded drop.  I think they add a fun touch.

My only problem is that I am never patient enough to let them dry before handling the card and I always smear at least one.

I could have easily made this a single layer card, but I couldn’t resist adding some dimension with the sentiment and some of the sprigs.

I created the layout using this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #304.  This is a great sketch!Clean and Simple Welcome Home Card

So many possibilities for this sketch.  We all have those label dies in all kinds of shapes.  We also have those greenery dies in all kinds of shapes.  This sketch is the perfect sketch to pull those out!

You could do a beautiful background or technique or leave a lot of white space like I did.  I’m thinking of a cover die I just got that would make a perfect background for this layout.

I need more hours in the day!

The copper is stunning with your color combo! I really admire your perfect dots…I struggle so with them. My success rate is very low. I will try with your technique advice. Thank you so much for joining us at AHSC this week.
