I am participating on a hashtag driven Christmas Card Hop on Instagram. You just need to go to IG and type in #ChristmasCardCC and you will find all the participants in today’s hop. There is also a $20 gift card being given away for Trinity Stamps if you comment, like and follow the participants.
I used a stamp set that arrived in my mailbox yesterday! I just ordered the Bouncing Mouse stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs. She’s having an Advent Calendar event this month and after I downloaded the freebie on Day 1, I couldn’t resist shopping. I got a couple of digital images and this stamp set. As soon as I pulled it out of the package, I had to create something with it.
Gerda Steiner has wonderfully whimsical images. I also love that many of her stamp sets are small sets so they are very affordable.
I started by creating my background. I always create my snowbank template from a piece of scrap paper. I hold that in place to ink blend the sky. Here I used Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, and Chipped Sapphire. I also added some shadow to the top of the snowbank using Copics: BV00, BV0000, and C1. I added some Altenew white ink splatter and some water mist to create a snowy background look.
I also used Copics to color my images. Once they were colored, I cut them out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut. I love that machine! It has saved me a fortune in die cuts!!
I attached my images with foam tape and added some white gel pen and journaling pen details. I also used a W5 and W3 Copic to add some shadows below the images.
My sentiment was added in the same Maker Forte Color Hive Eclipse Black Ink that I used to stamp my images. It is my favorite black ink for using with Copic markers!!
