I don’t know if you have heard of Craft Roulette or not. I had never heard of it until I was invited to be a guest on the show.
Mary Gunn FUNN came up with a fabulous way to give crafty friends a wonderful way to get together with all the things we’ve had going on for the last 86 weeks!
Mary created a live YouTube show called Craft Roulette where she invites guests to join her on a Friday evening and create a card along with her using parameters that are determined by a roulette wheel and lists Mary has created.
It’s a really wonderful community of crafters and I’m hooked! I can’t wait to watch this Friday to see what parameters the next guest and Mary get to create a card live!!
This is the card that I created. Mary and I had the exact same parameters and she created a fabulous Christmas card with a flap!
There are 4 parameters: Project, Colors, Element, and Random.
Mary spun the wheel and here are the parameters that we got for the night:
Project: Kids
Colors: Patterned Paper Inspired
Element: Diagonal Cut
Random: Folded Corner
Hopefully you can see all 4 parameters in my card!
My patterned paper was subtle, but I loved the sparkle or snowfall feel of the paper and the color was just perfect.
For the kid parameter, I pulled out on of my Sassy & Crafty stamps and created a ballerina fairy with lots of stars in the background. My diagonal cut was on my sentiment strip. You can see the folded corner on the focal image panel. I added some foil to the back of the fold to add some sparkle and shine.
I had a lot of FUNN! Mary is so nice and her son is the producer and keeps the program running smoothly. He was FANTASTIC at problem solving tech issues that popped up on my end. His instructions on how to do this live show with the tech I had were excellent!
I don’t know how I would have made it through the last 1-1/2 years without the craft community and the virtual events that have popped up along the way.
Mary has created a wonderful community of crafters that supported and included me. It’s just a wonderful way to entertain and support crafty friends!
Here is the video replay of the show:
Keep in mind that I’m an introvert and chit chat is not my forte. Even after 30+ years of teaching high school, I still get really nervous when I have to speak in front of other adults! You’d think it would be easy by now!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Perhaps you are looking for a FUNN crafty activity on Friday evenings (7:30 PM ET). You will likely find me participating in the chat with this lovely community of crafters!
Kim, I am looking forward to chatting with you in our group playing Craft Roulette. (Mary Gunn calls us the Chatterbox). You were terrific as a Guest Crafter — unflustered in the new environment and FUNN at the same time. And your card is beautiful!
So nice meeting you! Happy Retirement.
Fondly,
Ellen “CardMonkey” Jarvis
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Ellen! I look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the community!
Absolutely correct, Card Monkey!
Lovely! I’m so glad you joined us and I thought we had a nice visit.
Your card is just as cute as it can be and I’m super glad you are “hooked”. We are addicting, but in a good way.
Thank you for your kind words. Kudos for letting us see your brave adventurous spirit lurking behind that mild manner introvert cutie.
Thank you so much, Mary!! I had a wonderful time!
mission accomplished.
