Double Stencil Background Technique That’s Quick And Easy!

By | 04/15/2021

I have a fun birthday card for you today using a very quick and easy!

I used 2 stencils to create a unique background for a fun digital image from Kinda Cute by Patricia!

Double Stencil Technique Background

The digital image used for this card is called Birthday Robot and I used the Birthday Basics Sentiments digital set, both from Kinda Cute by Patricia.

My sister told me that I am making too many cards that are more suited to kids, but this card is going to my daughter who will be 29.  She has a PhD in Robotics and teaches at a big university.  She will love this card!  I have no doubt that the critter cards that I am making are well received by all of the adults I am sending them to.

I’ll  make sure that my sister’s cards are all flowers.

The background of this card is made using two stencils from Maker Forte.  I used the A2 Circle Spotlight Stencil and the Slimline Peacock Feathers stencil to create a unique background for my little robot that I colored with my Copics and die cut out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut.

I started by using my Spun Sugar distress oxide ink to create the circle with the spotlight stencil.  Without removing the stencil, I placed the Peacock Feathers stencil over the top and used Peacock Feathers distress oxide to create the fabulous pattern inside the larger circle.

The Robot and sentiment were popped up on foam.  I added some sequins to complete the card.
