Have You Experimented With New Techniques Lately?
I’ve spent the last 4 days playing with a technique that I had not tried before. It’s an emboss resist technique using alcohol markers for the background, stamping and embossing with clear embossing powder and then sponging a dark color over the top. The alcohol markers show beautifully through the clear embossing powder and the sponging covers the background marker coloring.
I’ve tried all different color combinations and stamp types and I found one I really liked!
The video tutorial for this technique will be added to the April Stamper’s Lounge Membership Library later this week! (Along with pictures of my failed experiments with this technique!)
I love this! After a lot of experimenting, I discovered that it worked best using light colors of alcohol markers and solid image stamps.
On this particular card, I’ve used the Petal Potpourri and the Occasions 4 You stamp sets. My color combination includes Pink Pirouette and Smokey Slate with Whisper White as my neutral.
I also elected to add the teeny tiny pearls on each scallop of my sentiment. You could also use your paper piercing tools to pierce a hole in the center of each scallop or use your white gel pen to place a white dot on each scallop. Each technique adds a little extra touch to your card. They are all great and it’s fun to experiment and use them on different cards.
