Triple Time Stamping Technique

I’ve tried the triple time stamping technique a couple of times before this card, but this is honestly the first time that I really loved the way the card turned out!  I’m using my  new Regals Ink Pad set.  The colors are just so rich and beautiful.  They are just perfect for Fall holidays!  This stamp set has been on my wish list for quite a while!  Thank you Stampin’ Up! for running your 15% off sale for a day!  I finally purchased a couple of stamp sets that I’ve been wishing for!

Here is how this technique works:

I layered my 3 pieces of very vanilla using a temporary adhesive to hold the layers together.  I then stamped my images, starting with the sentiment in the center.  I tried to cover all 3 layers with a couple of my images.

Step 1 of Triple Time

Once the stamping was done, I layered the card together using the Always Artichoke mats behind each layer of Very Vanilla.  The Very Vanilla is 1/4′ smaller all around than the Always Artichoke mat.  The layers of the Always Artichoke are one inch smaller all around than the very vanilla layer they sit on.  The actual dimensions are in my video tutorial below.  Here you can see how I layer them together to make the card.  You can add a ribbon between layers or just add it with a glue dot to the top.

Alternate the mat layers and the stamped layers.

This is the Very Vanilla layered with Chocolate Chip.  Here I added a ribbon between the layers to tie on the top.

Adding the last mat.

The final card. See how the stamped images align?

Some important tips:

  • Make sure your bottom layer goes onto the card in the correct direction so that the sentiment will end up facing up and the card opens in the correct direction.  I learned this the hard way and got a good chuckle at myself…hence the imperfection part.  It just appeals to my sense of humor when I make a goofy mistake!
  • Leave some white space in your card.  Below is a Betsy’s Blossom card that I think needs more white space and less stamping!

Not enough white space!!! This is one busy card!

Stamp set:  Day of Gratitude  Paper: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip   Inks:  More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso   Accessories: Ribbon, snail, temporary tape
