It’s a Stencil Challenge Scrapbook Layout!

This month’s challenge for the Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge is a stencil challenge!!

If you have been following me for a while, you know that I love stencils. There are so many ways to use them and they are very cost effective. I have a giant stash of stencils and they get used over and over again.

I used three stencils and two stamp sets for my layout today!

I started with a stencil that I love using as a garden path in scenes I create. I used Gray Granite ink for that. Then I added my brick stencil using Cajun Craze ink topped with some Crumb Cake ink to tone it down.

I used Cloud Cover ink to add a “sky” look with a giant circle stencil from Catherine Pooler Designs. I have no idea where the other stencils came from. I have had them a long time and used them soooo many times.

I added some florals along my brick wall on one side. I added a leafy stem in Old Olive ink from the Mixed Florals stamp set. I then used my watercolor pencils to fill them in. I also stamped some florals in Early Espresso ink from the Gallery Blooms stamp set.

I followed this with a border sticker from the Memories in Bloom Scrapbook Workshop Kit. I pulled the title and a couple of stickers, along with the flower die cut to decorate my page. I used two of the papers and added a torn edge to two sides of each of the patterned papers.

I also used my Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Write Marker to add a touch of the reddish-pink color to the edge of the title and the word sticker beside my photo. There is also a Strawberry Slush mat behind my photo.

My daughter snapped this photo of Gigi and Gramps with Annie in front of the house. The house is old and has lots of brick details in front so the brick stencil felt perfect for the photo. I did cover Annie’s face to keep her from being splashed across social media. It just seems safer that way.

My final detail was to add some of the new In Color embellishments in that Strawberry Slush color. My base page is actually of a color from Close To My Heart that is very close to Strawberry Slush. I’m trying to use up my older paper from CTMH so I can justify spending money on the gorgeous colors that Stampin’ Up! has. (Of course I want all the things!)
