There is nothing so satisfying as completing a task!
I did 31 scrapbook layout challenges this month…all on time and all on prompt. This is a satisfying moment!
Today’s prompt was about crowns and queens. We were given 3 sayings to inspire our layout.
1. Her courage was her crown and she wore it like a queen.
2. Real queens fix each other’s crowns.
3. Chin up princess, or the crown slips.
I chose to use the first one and I created a Traveler’s Notebook layout of my daughter celebrating with lunch after she successfully defended her doctoral thesis. I think it takes courage to be one of the few women in a field of study like engineering and robotics. She is amazing and she is a hard worker who has worked to find unique experiences to get where she is today. This definitely applies to her! I have been waiting to have more time to create a 12 x 12″ layout for this event, but I wanted to include a page in my traveler’s notebook during the LOAD challenge this month.
I tried to create a little mini 2 page layout here. I used 2 ephemera clusters in opposite corners, essentially focusing your attention on the title, photo, and journaling. I added a little pocket to pull some of that mustard yellow from the left page to the right and then I had quite a few die cuts and stickers that worked with the yellow.
I used a couple of scrap strips with my scallop punch to anchor the title and make it easier to see on the dark purple paper. I love the little tags and pocket cards that you can sometimes find around for journaling like the one I’ve used here. They give it a fun touch!
I added some gold touches to both pages because I love sparkle and shine on my projects. I’ve added a large die and a circular piece to each cluster of ephemera. I tried to keep it fairly simple since the background papers were pretty busy and the pages are not that large.
These little traveler’s notebooks are a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to finishing this one up and starting my holiday season traveler’s notebook!
