Make A Quick Card With Washi Tape

By | 05/11/2014

Make a quick card with Washi tape as your focal point!  Washi tape adds a touch of fun and color to your creations.  It’s also an inexpensive addition to your craft arsenal, not to mention how unforgiving it is to craft with!

I know!  It’s a busy card.  I am participating in a series of card sketch challenges over the next couple of weeks over at my friend Holly K’s website, the Rubber Redneck Stampede.  Holly’s card making style is so different than mine, so I love to try out her sketches just to create something outside my comfort zone.  It stretches those creativity muscles!

You can see the peeking of the Always Artichoke card base around the whisper white mat.  That means that I had an entirely different color scheme in mind when I started!  My plan was to  use always artichoke, rose red, daffodil delight and tangerine tango.  Then that Bermuda Bay popped in and changed the entire card!  The yellow mat is actually crushed curry and you can see the soft suede ink on the sentiment.

These are the Retro Fresh Washi tapes….I love the colors and patterns on this set.  I’m glad they are keeping this set of tapes around for the new catalog.

The sentiment comes from the Love You to the Moon and this stamp set is not being carried over into the new catalog.  If you love this stamp set, you need to get it now before it retires on May 31.

You can see that this set coordinates with the Chalk Talk framelits.

You know how much I love stamp sets that coordinate with punches and framelits.  I’ll buy those coordinating bundles as soon as they are offered every time!  “Why?”, you ask.  Let me tell you!  When I can stamp an image and use a punch or framelit to cut it out, it makes my card making quick and easy.  Suddenly, I’ve got a WOW factor that took no effort at all.  It eliminates the fussy cutting.  I love that I can have this beautifully cut out image instead of an image stamped on white card stock and cut out as a rectangle.  I can pop it on a dimensional and suddenly I have texture and dimension on my card.  It just takes it to the next level!
