Make The Cards Challenge: Beach Theme

This week’s Make The Cards Challenge is a beach themed challenge!

Beach themed card challenge

This past winter, I’ve seen such a variety of sea creatures off the dock at our house, that I think more about what is under the water now than I ever did before.

For my beach themed card, I created an underwater beach scene!

This is a stamp set that I have had in my stash for a bit from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I loved the submersible and will definitely send this card to my daughter since her research focuses on field robotics, specifically the underwater kind.

I actually stamped the scene and colored the images in with my Copics.

Then I created masks to cover each image and ink blended the background.

I traced a wave pattern using my Sunny Studios Catch a Wave die and then ink blended Peacock Feathers and Broken China distress inks for the ocean water.  I used Tumbled Glass for the sky.  I hand cut two clouds and added some BV0000 and C00 to give the clouds some dimension.

A few gel pen details finished off this fun card!

I did add some Copic dots along the bottom to create a seafloor to make it feel like a complete scene!

Copic Combinations:

Submarine: Y 17, 13, 11  T 6. 4. 2 0

Bear: YR 27, 24, 23, 21  Boo

Swordfish: B 31, 21 W 0

Jellyfish:  B02, 00, W0
