This week’s Make the Cards Challenge is a Circle Theme Challenge! I had a lot of fun playing with this one and doing a little experimenting with a new background technique!
The theme made me think of the STAMPlorations Bubbles stencil that I love so much and I have a drawer full of circle punches. I’ve been wanting to try heat embossing with a stencil, so that is where this card started!
I applied Versa Mark embossing ink to the stencil and then placed it on the white panel. I added some Rose Gold embossing powder and heat set the circles. I love the messy look I ended up with!
I punched a variety of different circles from some Photoplay paper called Sweet Honey Bee that I found on clearance a while back. I inked the edges of the circles with some fossilized amber distress oxide ink and popped them up on foam to add to my base panel.
The Bee Kind bee and sentiment came in the mail on Friday from Altenew. I subscribed to their mini monthly kit and I get a mini stamp and die set each month. I love the little mini’s and use them in a variety of ways. I thought this one was super cute and worked with the paper from my stash and with my bubble stencil.
Some sequins finished off the card and I’m loving this technique!
I used a black card base with some pretty fabulous yellow card stock that I got with a great coupon from Card Stock Warehouse a few months ago. I love that bright yellow against the black and I love how it makes that bee pop on the card!
