My new favorite card size is a mini slimline.
It’s a fun card size with a smaller background to fill. The size allows you to get to the point! You make a smaller background so your focal image and sentiment are the star of the show!
Today I’m using the Bee Girl digital stamp from Kinda Cute by Patricia.
I used a new stencil that I purchased from STAMPlorations. I’m a huge fan of their products after having the opportunity to use them during my guest designer opportunity earlier this year. The owner, Sheri Russ, is just a joy to work with and a very kind and generous person. She has a lot of sales and gives away a lot of freebies when you order.
You know I’m a big fan of freebies! It gave me the opportunity to try her premade card fronts and clear sticker sentiments. Plus her stamps, dies and stencils are AMAZING!
I really enjoyed coloring this little bee girl. I kept the Copic Combinations pretty simple.
Yellow: YR 27, 24, 23, 21, Y 11
Skin: E 13, 21, 04
Black: W9, 7, 5, 3, 1
I used Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, Linen, and Vintage Photo distress oxide inks for my background.
I did some distressing with a spritz of water, then added some splatters in Vintage Photo, white gouache and Bittersweet Kaleidoscope powder mixed with water.
The Kaleidoscope powders from Maker Forte are actually mica powders. One technique you can use with the mica powders is to mix them with water and splatter them on. Once they are dry, you need to set them with a spritz of water or hairspray.
The sentiment is a cut apart sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp set. I love that it was so easy to just cut out and attach to my card!
I did add 3 small Rhubarb Crown Jewel Gems from Maker Forte just to add some fun sparkle to my card.
