I always enjoy playing with punches and my Big Shot framelits, dies and embossing folders. Plus, with all of the colors retiring at the end of May, I want to use all my retiring papers and colors before I have to put them away! I can’t decide whether I am looking forward to the retiring stamp set list or dreading it! I have so many stamp sets I love and I don’t want to see them go. Of course, there are always the new stamps sets that will be coming out with the new catalog! I will no doubt have an entirely new wish list of must haves.
I love this punch. It’s really fun to play with and there are a tons of alternate uses for this punch. For this card, I used Regal Rose card stock as a card base, cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. I used the same color and embossed it with my Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. This is my favorite embossing folder, although I think this would be really pretty with the polka dot folder as well. I sponged on some Regal Rose ink with a sponge dauber to highlight the embossing and give it more dimension.
Using a 4-1/4″ square of very vanilla, I put 4 petals flat on the card stock. I curled 4 more with my bone folder and attached them with glue dots between the flat petals. An antique brad was used as the center of the flower. I finished off the card with some very vanilla taffeta ribbon, a sentiment from the Kindness Matters stamp set stamped on very vanilla in early espresso ink. The sentiment was punched with the word window punch and matted on Print Poetry DSP punched with the Modern Label Punch. The same paper was used with the petal punch to create two leaves under the flower.
I have a video created to show the details of this card!
