Pursuing Happiness At The Comfort Cafe With Stampin’ Up!

Featured Retiring Products:  Comport Cafe Designer Series Paper, Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set, Not Quite Navy Ribbon

Designer Series Papers from Stampin’ Up! are my favorite patterned papers.  They have different coordinating patterns printed on both sides of the papers.  This opens the paper crafting possibilities.  You can do some great folds when your paper is printed on both sides and the two patterns coordinate with each other.  I love that I don’t have to coordinate them.  One of the reasons that I love Stampin’ Up! so much is because they make their products to coordinate with each other.  When you go to a craft store, they carry several brands of paper in one aisle and then inks from several companies in another aisle, and the ribbon…it’s across the building and it is produced by completely different companies.  None of it coordinates.

I really should find a clothing store that coordinates adult clothes like Stampin’ Up! coordinates all of it’s products!  People have been looking at my somewhat creative color combinations of clothing a little funny lately.  You can only say, “I’m color blocking!”, just so many times.

mojo-mon-sketchI would never have put these papers together myself.  There they were, all in the package of Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper, which is retiring on June 3!  This card uses two pieces of the DSP in the package.  What you see is the front and back of two coordinating packages.  The catalog very clearly tells you what colors are used in the papers so you can then also coordinate your card stock, inks, ribbons and embellishments.  LOVE IT!  One great catalog simplifies the entire process!

My card is actually 4-1/2″ square in Midnight Muse card stock.  The Very Vanilla mat on top is 4-1/4″ square and the DSP is 4″ square.  Each of the little banner pieces is 1-1/2″ wide and they are cut at varying lengths, 3-3/4″, 3-1/2″ and 3-1/4″.

The sentiment is from the retiring Pursuit of Happiness stamp set.  I love this set.  The sentiments are amazing.  This is stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Very Vanilla card stock.  The Very Vanilla sentiment and the Midnight Muse mat are both cut on my Big Shot with the Oval Framelits.  I added the with my piercing mat, paper piercing tool and the Occasions Paper Piercing templates.

The ribbon is Not Quite Navy ribbon that is also retiring.  I cheated here since it isn’ t Midnight Muse.  The two blues look very much alike to me and the ribbon has a faded look which I really like, so I went with it!

This card is made from the Mojo Monday Sketchfor this week.  I decided to challenge myself to a new sketch challenge this week.  So far, there are 147 entries!  WOW!  Here is the original sketch:
