Retrosketches Challenge Accepted!

By | 10/04/2016

While browsing the internet, I found another great sketch challenge to try.  Why not try a few and see what happens?  It really gets you creativity flowing when you use a sketch to get started!

I am playing along with Retrosketches #233.  I loved this one when I found it!  The challenge was to pick any one of the past sketches and make a card!

I chose sketch #28….

Stampingimperfection Paisleys and Posies

Love, love, loved this card sketch!  This site, Retrosketches,  has an entire archive of card sketches to explore.  You should check it out one of these days, especially if you’ve hit a creative road block.

I loved the hand drawn truly retro look of this sketch.  I have sketch books full of card sketches and ideas that I’ve created over the years.  I find it relaxing to draw them and plan what my next project will be!

This card is simply the Paisleys and Posies and the Basket of Wishes stamp sets.  I’m sticking with the Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, and Mint Macaron color scheme.  To be honest, one of the reasons that I’ve been using it so much is that fabulous trio of ribbons set that I purchased from Stampin’ Up!s Holiday Catalog.   I love using ribbon on my cards and this is a fantastic card layout for this particular ribbon.

Incidentally, I’ve also embossed the Mint Macaron with the Lovely Lace textured impressions embossing folder.  It coordinated perfectly with the Paisleys and Posies stamp set.  You know how I love my big graphic flowers!

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by.
