Sassy & Crafty Butterfly Cards: Turner’s Syndrome Blog Hop and Challenge

By | 02/13/2021

I like to participate in the Turner’s Syndrome Blog Hop and Challenge every year to help raise awareness for Turner’s Syndrome which is a genetic disorder that affects females.  I was surprise to discover that 1 in 2000 female births worldwide are affected by this genetic defect and that a high percentage of the pregnancies that don’t go to term are the result of this defect!   You can get more information of Turner’s Syndrome and the hop HERE.

You can win prizes from the sponsors by leaving comments on the hop particpants blogs as well!

I noticed that Sassy & Crafty was one of the sponsors, so I decided to use some of their new February release products for my challenge card!

Here is the mood board for the hop and challenge:

I chose to use the new Sassy & Crafty Flutter By Butterfly stamp set and the Butterfly Wings stencil.  I used several inks from Catherine Pooler:  Bellini, Chiffon, Twilight, It’s A Girl, Lime Rickey, and Midnight.  These all work with the mood board!

I used the stencil to create a partial background on my cards.  One I did in just green and the other I used the orange, pink, and yellow to create an almost abstract looking background.

I heat embossed one of the butterfly images once in black and once in white.  Then I ink blended the same inks on top of that and fussy cut the butterflies out.  I popped them up on foam and added them to the stenciled base.  I added one of the fabulous sentiments to the card front, along with some ink spatter and sequins to complete the cards.

Here is a video tutorial and a mini craft haul from Sassy & Crafty!
