Have you ever purchased a grab bag or mystery box from a craft store before?
I did a few years ago and regretted spending the money. I basically got a box of weird embellishments and ephemera that were very appropriate for kids crafting, but not mine. I haven’t purchased any mystery items since then…until a couple of weeks ago.
I purchased one of the Simon Says Stamp boxes. They did a fundraiser for Huntington’s Disease. It’s a good cause and I figured that even if it’s all old stuff, I have never been disappointed with Simon Says Stamp products. Plus, other companies were donating things for the boxes.
I was absolutely delighted with the box of goodies that I got! It had several dies, lots of stamp sets that included some Christmas sets, it also included some embellishments and items that will be perfect for my scrapbooking hobby!
I created a card for this week’s Make The Cards Challenge using one of the stamp sets in the kit. This week’s challenge is a Slimline Sketch Challenge!
Isn’t this a fabulous sketch? I loved it immediately!
How pretty is this stamp set?
I stamped and heat embossed the clouds, then covered them with masks. I ink blended Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass over the top and removed the masks.
The sun was stamped in Color Hive Eclipse Black ink and then I used some Copics to add some nice yellows and oranges to it.
The Washi tape is from Studio Calico. I added a sentiment from the stamp set and a few Trinity Stamps jewel embellishments to finish off the card.
I love this stamp set. That sun image is amazing and would look fantastic left just black and white…or heat embossed in black on yellow or in gold on black.
Isn’t it fabulous when you get a stamp set and your head is spinning with ideas for using it?!
