Slimline cards are popping up everywhere these days. I decided to create a fun one using a couple of fabulous slimline die sets that I purchased a while ago when the trend began.
I’m using a very cute set of 3 Little Pigs digital stamps from Kinda Cute by Patricia and a sentiment from my stash.
These little pigs are adorable! I had a lot of fun coloring them. I actually printed an entire page of them and experimented with color combinations. This one was my favorite.
Copic Combination:
R 20, 21, 30, YR 00, BV000
I’ve used 2 slimline dies here. The pink cardstock is cut with the Sunny Studios Scalloped Frame Die…my favorite slimline of all. It comes with several word dies which makes it a great value for my crafty dollar.
The top slimline is a Marquee die from Whimsy Stamps. I love the fun shape of the openings and the stitched detail around the edge of the slimline panel.
I added a background that I created with some Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and gold foil. It’s been a while since I played with my alcohol inks and my supply is woefully small. I only had 2 reds and a couple of yellow peachy colors.
The sentiment is from an old Simon Says Stamp set called Beautiful Ride. I think it is a great sentiment!
You see 2 of the little pigs and the background here. I’m using the sentiments cut apart into strips a lot lately because they seem to fit better in the spots I want them to go when I cut them apart.
I used a little BV000 to shade the areas I wanted darker. I was trying to keep the pigs from being either too pink or too yellow.
I also gave my card a lot of dimension this time as well.
