Stash Diving And A Sketch Challenge

By | 10/29/2019

Do you have those packages of premade die cuts and ephemera?  Perhaps you have a giant stash of them.

I haven’t purchased any of those items for a very long time.  Until recently.

I’ve been getting the Simon Says Stamps card kits for quite some time and every few months they will have some of the die cut ephemera in them.

I used to use them in my scrapbooks…in fact, I still do.

I felt like it was cheating to use them on a card, but lately the ones I’ve been getting in the kits are so pretty that I’ve had to use them on my cards!

The set I used for today’s card and tomorrow’s card are from Carta Bella Paper Co. and this is the Frames and Tags set.

This card layout just doesn’t feel like my style, but individually, I love the elements on the card.

The layout is using this week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and I feels busy to me.  I used to make cards like this all the time, but lately I have adopted a cleaner and simpler card design style.

My card actually uses a premade card base from Stampin’ Up!  I just loved the watercolor wash look to this set of note cards and envelopes.  I’ve added a scallop using a Concord & 9th border die and some gold washi from Altenew.  The gold mirror card stock is also from Altenew and the thanks sentiment is a die from Sunny Studio Stamps Vintage Jar set.  I’ve added some Simon Says butterfly kisses sequins mix and some splashes of white to finish it off.

Believe it or not, this is all stuff I had sitting on my desk because I’ve been playing with all of these goodies lately.

I’m working to use things from my stash instead of purchasing new stuff.

That’s life on a crafty budget!!
