Hey friends! I am on the Three Room Studio blog today with the Feature Friday post.
I have a card to share with you today featuring the Calla Lily digital stamp. As soon as I saw this digi, I knew that it would be perfect for so many occasions. It makes a nice addition to your digi stash because it works so well with so many of sentiments in the Simple Sentiments clear stamp set!
Today, I need an engagement card for my daughter and her fiancé! (Finally!)
To finish off the card, I masked the Calla Lily images and stenciled on some stripes with Speckled Egg distress oxide ink. I added a few sequins from a pretty mix I had in my stash.
The top sentiment came from the Simple Sentiments clear stamp set. This was heat embossed in white on black cardstock. I added the only engagement sentiment in my stash to the bottom of the card.
I thought this sentiment from the Simple Sentiments set was just perfect for an engagement card.
You can see that I used some lavender colors and blue violets to add some color and dimension to the images.
When you are coloring white images, you need to add some color to them to actually make them look white and dimensional.
One hint I have for doing this is to start light or at the color your comfortable with and take a photo with your phone to see what it looks like when you color it in. The photo is the best way to see if you have bravely gone dark enough with your shading color! If you can’t see the shading in the photo, pull out a darker color and try again.
I actually did this 3 times before I had the shading dark enough in the photo to actually add the dimension I wanted! I’m still working on using darker shades of color on my white images.
I hope you feel inspired to color some Calla Lilies today and check out the Three Room Studio shop!!
Thank you so much for dropping in today. Have a wonderful day!
