Today’s challenge is a sketch challenge and it’s a nice one!

I’ve been loving the stamp sets that I got from Three Room Studio Stamps.  I can’t stop playing with the new release!

I used the Hello Friend stamp set for this card and since June is Pride Month, I decided to add a watercolor wash rainbow to celebrate all of my family, friends, and former students who are a part of the LGBTQIA+.

I made two versions of the card and I would love to know which way you like this card better, so leave me a comment and let me know!

This was my first version and I felt like it was missing something.  It actually sat on my table for a week before I decided to add the little waving hands in the stamp set to add another touch to the background.

This background was created by doing a simple watercolor wash with my Altenew Artist Watercolors and the new Altenew brushes.  You can see exactly how I did that in the video below.

I think the new release stamp sets are fabulous.  I love to color in the images, but then you have so many sentiments to build your own personal sentiment with.  I love having that option.  I can build my own sentiment.

I’m also happy to have the coordinating die set on this one because it cuts the larger sentiment words and turns them into die cuts.  I can’t fussy cut or get the same effect with my Brother Scan-n-Cut as I can with the dies on this one.

I really like the addition of the hands because it just felt like it completed the card for me.

The woman is colored in Copic markers and then die cut with a stitched circle die from my stash.  I die cut out the hello sentiment and popped it up on foam.  The friend was added directly to the watercolored piece below the circle.

I used some Maker Forte Crown Jewel Gems to finish off the card. These are the Vegas Strip set.

I’m working on my hair coloring skills, so I’m experimenting with different techniques for coloring in hair.  I’m a work in progress for sure!

It felt good to get my watercolors out today even if I only did a watercolor wash.  I will be playing with those more this week for sure. I’m loving the new watercolor brush set I just got from Altenew.  They are a little stiffer than the silver ones that everyone recommends.  I like a stiffer brush because I definitely have a heavy hand.  I’m working on the lighter and smaller strokes with both watercoloring and Copic coloring.

I’ll get it eventually!
