Let’s Start With What Did Work On This Card!

Yes…let’s start with what worked on this card!

This card was created for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge.

I’m going to be brutally honest…I’m exhausted today.  I did not sleep well  because I had an observation today.  I really loathe having someone come in to watch me teach.  This is my 29th year of teaching and I’ve won multiple teaching awards.  I’m being observed and evaluated by people who have 4 years or less teaching experience.  With that said I must add that I get ridiculously stressed out about these observations.  They make me physically ill.  Luckily, my students are a bright spot!  Shining stars!

Needless to say, my creative energy is subzero today.

So…here is my card…

Stamping Imperfection Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge

You can’t see this, but it is super sparkly.  I got all done and decided some sparkle could not hurt this card.  I spritzed it to within an inch of it’s life with Shimmer Mist and it sparkles!

That works for me!

I also like the color palette.  I used Smokey Slate, Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette.  The flowers are colored in Stampin’ Blends.

I love playing with those alcohol markers.  And let’s be honest.  Is there anyone that can’t use a little coloring after a stressful day?!

That works for me also!

Plus…CUTE stamp set!  That is Flirty Flowers and I most certainly have not played with this cute set enough.  It has promise!

That works too.

Love the sequins.  Those are from Hero Arts.  The just arrived in the mail today.  Just when I needed it the most, craft supplies arrived.  It’s like a hug in a box from crafty people everywhere.

That works!!

What didn’t work?

Well it’s the dots I made with the Stampin’ Blends.  I was taking a class and the instructor added some of those to her card and it looked fabulous.

I wish I had added splatter spots with my Stampin’ Write markers.  I always like that.  Or maybe no dots…just clean and simple.

It was one step too many.  You know how that is.  Like sponging.  There is a fine line and then you cross it.  You took a technique too far.

All in all…it was a quick one layer card.  I needed quick today.

Now I’m going to go have a glass of wine.  A nice Malbec I’m thinking.

I’m absolutely delighted that you stopped by today.  I so appreciate your visits.  Like a hug from a crafty friend.

Have a wonderful day and embrace the imperfections!  Some days we have more of those than others.
