I’ve joined the Scrapping 4 Fun Challenge Design Team for the September-December 2020 term and I’m very happy to share my very first DT design challenge as part of the team!
Each challenge for this team has a sponsor and the sponsor for this two week challenge is LeAnn’s World 101.
I selected the Painter Girl digi and absolutely fell in love with it!
I had created a mixed media background over the summer that I absolutely loved and I’ve been waiting for some inspiration for what to do with it and this fantastic digital image was all the inspiration I needed!
How great is this digital image? I knew that I wanted to use her on my rainbow mixed media background. I’ve been immersed in mixed media for months and I feel like I’ve been living in full color the entire time. Needless to say, I made sure this painter girl had lots of color in her story!
I created a 6×8″ layout for my One Little Word 2020 Journal and this makes me so happy!!
My mixed media journey for the last 9 months has been all about using virtual resources to learn everything I can from the experts and designers who are so wonderfully sharing their expertise. I snapped a picture one Friday evening as I was creating along with one of Vicki Boutin’s Facebook Live evenings. I created this background during that event and it has just been waiting for the perfect inspiration!
I think this page documents my mixed media journey over the last several months so perfectly!
My mixed media background is created with layer upon layer of Vicki’s art crayons to create a rainbow background with a lot of depth and dimension. I’ve added some ephemera pieces from 49th and Market along with some stickers from the I’d Rather Be Crafting sticker sheet from Echo Park. I love the combination of elements and the Painter Girl digi is just what this layout needed to tell the story!

Isn’t that the truth?!

Kim I absolutely love how this page came out. Your coloring is so perfect it looks printed! I have been enjoying your posts with the scrapbooking/ journal pages. I am in awe with your creativity. Love the page with your husband included! Looks to me like it would take forever to do these backgrounds.
Have a great weekend. Keep crafting and sharing lol
Thank you so much, Anita! I am really enjoying the mixed media, Copic/alcohol marker coloring and the watercoloring. The albums and travelers notebooks are also becoming a new obsession for me!! I am really enjoying adding any form of memory keeping into my days. I can’t believe how much I’ve missed doing all the other papercrafting besides just cards!
