That’s right! This month’s challenge is Black and White!
You can check out the other design team layouts over on the Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge blog!
The last time we did a Black and White challenge, I was really inspired because Monique added a pop of yellow with her design. I LOVED it! So I CASEd her pop of color idea and added some Lemon Lime Twist details to my layout.
I created a background of grays and black with some white sprinkled in. I used layers of stamping, stenciling, splattering and ink swiping.
Then I CASEd a vertical central line layout that Sharon did a couple of months ago to create my layout.
Lisa-Marie is a Master of layering pretty papers behind her photo and creating a genuine focal point of interest on her layouts. Of course, I attempted to CASE her as well!
I pulled out some of my texture and text stamps, along with a homemade stencil. I did die cut some leaves to add some ephemera details to the page. I added some ribbon and twine to create that vertical line down the page. I moved mine off center because it felt more balanced with the layout I was creating on this page. I stacked some black and white patterned papers and my Lemon Lime Twist card stock to create a genuine pop of color on the page!
I pulled out some title stamps from my Stampin’ Up! collection. If you haven’t checked out what Stampin’ Up! has been coming out with in their Scrapbook line, you must! Every quarter or so, they come out with new Scrapbook Workshop Kits that always have a coordinating stamp set that gives you some great title stamps and some secondary title stamps. I’m loving their stuff! It always coordinates with their color lines and other materials in their product lines. All of the stamps I used to create my background and stenciling came from Stampin’ Up! stamps and dies that I’ve collected over the last 2 or 3 years.
I did use my favorite photo of me and my husband after one of our morning walks a couple years ago. We look so relaxed and happy…it truly captures who we are together.
Please make sure you check out the Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge. We would love to have you play along!!
