The new Make The Card Challenge is a Christmas theme challenge this week!
I pulled out an old favorite stamp set from Altenew because I wanted to play with creating a snowstorm on a card!
The stamp set is called Plentiful Pine. It has 4 layers for each tree and the tree comes in 2 sizes. There are also sentiments for many occasions. I love this set because I can use it for Christmas and throughout the winter.
Plus, isn’t that pine tree amazing?
I created a snowbank with my age old technique. I cut a hill shape out of a piece of scrap paper and ink blended a couple of snowbanks in. You can see the details in my video.
To create the snowstorm, I spritzed the card with Distress Resist Spray and let it dry. Once that dried, I ink blended some Altenew Persian Blue and black inks over the top while masking the snowbanks.
Then I stamped my trees and added the sentiment.
I just have to practice getting a snowstorm effect without white-out conditions! I think I might try a different sprayer and see if I can control the spritz a little better.
Isn’t the effect fun?
I also CASEd a couple of cards from the package insert. I was having fun playing with the stamp set and I still need some Christmas cards!
I changed the card to a vertical orientation and added the sentiment above the trees. This was so simple to create and all the cards are single layer cards. The first card does have one of the trees die cut out and added with foam for dimension.
I used the Swiss Dot background on this one and again changed the orientation. I also used the Emeral and Volcano inks instead of the Mountain Pine set that I used on the other 2 cards. I also used the Artic ink for the Swiss dot background.
I love single layer cards that look like way more work than they are. This one took less than 5 minutes to create!!
