Challenge YOUrself Scrapbook Challenge for June

Yay! It’s time for the June scrapbook challenge at Challenge YOUrself! This is a month long challenge and this month’s theme is a mood board.

I loved the colors and the images in this mood board. It reminded me of the colors that I used to decorate our house in the late 80’s and early 90’s. It was all about mauve tones with pink, blue, peach and Lavendar pastels.

I found a lot of keepsake photos when we were helping to clean out my Mother-in-Law’s condo last October. She is one of the few people who always made sure that I was in some of the photos! I’m usually the one taking the pictures, but she was very good at capturing everyone and lots of little moments.

The photos are high gloss photos and I found it impossible to photograph them without a glare streak down the side.

This is the first boat fishing trip that we took our kids on. I think this is 1995 which would make my daughter 3 and my son almost 2 at the time. They really enjoyed the day out on the boat fishing.

Thank goodness! This was their first boat fishing trip of what would become a weekend activity for both of them. Now that they are adults of 30 and almost 29, they still love to go out fishing with my husband when they come home to visit! They both appreciate that they had the opportunities to be exposed to fishing trips and that they developed an expertise for doing so. Both of them credit these days to the work and hobbies they now have as adults.

I only went on a few of those trips. I used the time to clean the house, work in the gardens, do the grocery shopping, and get my lessons planned for the next week and the papers graded from the week before.

I did crafty things with them instead!

I used this month’s Hip Kit Club papers. The colors worked really well for this mood board challenge. I love that I got a lot of ephemera bits along with a package of wood veneers.

I always love when they include tags, labels, and journaling bits as well!
