Card Making Techniques: Creating a Background with Word or Alpha Dies

By | 01/11/2023

Today, I was playing with a small set of word dies that I purchased from Close To My Heart last month.  It actually has 4 words that can be used in a variety of combinations to make card sentiments or titles for scrapbook layouts.

I decided to use it to create an elegant background on a couple of cards that I wanted to make.

I die cut the word love in white cardstock about 17 times and glued it in rows on a piece of white cardstock cut at 4 x 5-1/4″.  This became my card background.  I took two of the love die cuts and glued them together.  I also added some Scarlet red ink to the top one.

I glued 3 of the YOU sentiments together and added some Sapphire blue ink to the top one.  These reinforced dies were added to the front of my card with some glue to create a focal point.

So simple and so elegant!!
