Years ago, I took some stamping classes to learn all of the basics and some fun techniques that I still use in my card making and scrapbooking today! Two techniques I learned in my first class included masking and sponging. We learned how to make clouds and snowbanks. I still love making them!
We are finally getting snow here today, so it seemed like a good day to share a snowbank card! I’m working on my snowy sky technique. As soon as I perfect it, I will share that with you.
I created a video to share the how to for this technique.
I also needed another quick gift tag, and once again turned to My Digital Studio (MDS).
The how to: After you open MDS (#130646) , select New Project under file. I then selected 3×3 tag and create your own. I selected background paper, clicked the Designer Series Paper icon and then selected Secret Garden 8. I selected punches added a punch. My punch is found under Labels and Tags. It is the Decorative Label Punch. I added color using the color fill tool and the match the color. By doing it this way, I was able to select the leaves and the MDS matched the label to the color of the leaves so I got a perfect match instantly. I then selected stamps, clicked on the add stamp icon and selected Delightful Dozen. After selecting the sentiment, I resized it to fit in my label and then I centered it. That’s it. Save your project and print it on Very Vanilla card stock.
Printing on card stock really makes the image appear to be stamped on. I cut it down to 3 x 2-3/4″, adhered it to Certainly Celery card stock ( 3-1/2 x 6″, scored at 3″). I added a ribbon and used dimensionals to create the card.
Remember that you can try MDS2+ free for 30 days! Give it a try and create some quick and fun projects. (Free trial #130910). Click here.
Take some stamping and scrapbooking classes!
I still enjoy taking crafting classes. I find it fun to learn new techniques as well as refreshing old ones. I find that I really enjoy taking the online classes now. I can do that anytime of the day or evening when I have time. If it’s a video class (like my Simply Calendar Class), I can watch it over and over again. If it’s a PDF class (like my Delightful Dozen, Easy Events or the Everything Eleanor Class) , I have a file on my computer I save these in to refer to over and over again. CLICK HERE to treat yourself to an online stamping class. Get some inspiration and learn some new techniques or refresh an old one!
Stay tuned: I will be posting some new online class opportunities!!! I can’t wait to share them with you! I’m busy working on content that will make you say “WOW!”…check back!
