Stamping Technique: Inked Dry Embossing

By | 12/31/2012

You can add some great dimension to your cards by using a technique called Inked Dry Embossing.  You use a brayer to ink up the front inside of your embossing folder and then emboss your paper.  It really gives a beautiful effect.

Here is an up close view of two samples. One is gumball green on whisper white, the other is crumb cake on crumb cake. I love the tone-on-tone effect you can get with this technique.

The gumball green is quite an eye-popper!

I just wanted to give you a close up view of this “Henry Says” card…it’s a little sneak peek!  You can order this stamp set on January 3!!!  It’s a very cute set for kids and it covers several occasions.  I love when I can use a stamp set over and over.  I also love when a stamp set comes with sentiments and images.  This is a great one for that!

The colors definitely make you notice this card…gumball green and melon mambo!  They are happy colors!

Here is a video of this technique…I know you’ll want to experiment with this one!

Enjoy the video!  I love sharing techniques that might be new for your, or maybe it’s something you know about but haven’t tried in a while.  Use those stamping tools!  Don’t let them gather dust!
