I actually think this would be a great scrapbooking set! It’s all about travel. The colors include Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Real Red and Island Indigo. It feels very monotone, even with 4 colors. It’s actually a perfect set for masculine cards, even with the coral color included. I did find it difficult to create cards with it. I somehow managed to get 5 card ideas and a scrapbook project out of myself, even though I didn’t immediately fall in love with the set.
The card above shows 4 of the papers and one stamp. You can see that I cut 3 paper strips and attached them to my whisper white card base (cut 4-1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5-1/2″). I used my 1-3/4″ scallop circle punch on one of the coral papers to create a background mat for the sealed with a kiss sentiment stamped in Calypso Coral on to Whisper White. I punched that out with my 1-1/4″ circle punched and attached it with a dimensional. You can see I added some of the baker’s twine and tied it with a bow. I LOVE the baker’s twine. It’s not a clunky twine. It’s soft and thin and really adds a great touch to a project.
I kept the card clean and simple. I sometimes have to remind myself that white space is okay. There are people who love that style of card making and decorating. I’m generally not one of them. I do aspire to leave open spaces at times, but generally, if I see a space, I need to fill it with something!
