Make an easy burlap wreath for the holidays! I can’t say that it’s a quick project, but it doesn’t take a ton of supplies and it’s very easy to create!
I love to have a seasonal wreath hanging by my front door all year long. For the Christmas season, I created a very easy wreath from Stampin’ Up!’s Burlap Ribbon, a 14″ wire wreath base, some inexpensive pine cone floral pieces, floral wire, wire snips, and some of the Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon.
I used 2 rolls of the burlap ribbon of this wreath. I cut the burlap into 4″ pieces and then folded each piece in half and wired it to the wreath base with the floral wire forming the loops. I have to be honest…this was a 3 movie wreath! (We had a lazy day the day before Thanksgiving when the kids got home from college. We watched movies, played scrabble and I created a wreath!)
I simply filled in the entire wire base with the burlap strips and then added a cherry cobbler ribbon and some very inexpensive floral picks to decorate the wreath. I have this hanging on my front porch right by the door, so it is somewhat protected from the weather. I expect that I will keep this up throughout the winter and design something new for spring in March!
I’d also like to say thank goodness I chose the 14″ wreath and not the 18″ one! That would have required another movie!!!
I love Stampin’ Up!’s Burlap ribbon. It’s soft and easy to work with. I love wrapping packages with it and it’s a great touch for a masculine card or an out doorsy scrapbook layout!
